No New Year%92s Resolutions

Happy New Year Everyone! Hope the first day of 2008 finds you happy, healthy and safe. I have decided not to make any resolutions, since I never stick to them anyway! Who needs the guilty conscience? Instead, I've compiled a list of things I hope I don't have to do or deal with in 2008, as follows: I hope I can get through 2008 without once stepping on a freshly regurgitated hairball at 5:30 in the morning, in the dark, only to land in the rest of the goop the cat coughed up with my other foot when I jump back in disgust. I hope I don't have to pick my son up from the Emergency room even once, or add another folder to our camera pics entitled, "Face meets pavement (after wiping out while extreme biking), "After the mugging" (when my son and his girlfriend were attacked after the fireworks in August, may karma lay some serious repercussions on the 7 warriors who were brave enough to attack a young man and woman walking alone), "leg wounds" (after rolling down a hill when the ATV couldn't quite make it), etc, etc. In fact, I think I'll just bind him in bubble wrap for the rest of his life. I hope I never again get whiplash without actually hitting something or being hit. (I know, I didn't think it was possible either, don't ask). I hope the construction company never moves another display home into the empty lot next door at 3:30 in the morning when I have to be up at 5:30 for work. Okay, that's enough of what I don't want. You get the picture, 2007 was a weird year. On the bright side, we made it through. May the orders for work keep coming, may the universe allow me to continue to create, in big ways and small, and may my family, and yours, have a great year. I wish you peace on your journey. And no hairballs.

Thanks for the good wishes (and a good laugh), Lydia, and I too hope that we will both have a hairball free year. All the best to you. Jan 03, 2008 03:58
